The Best Protection is Early Detection.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness about the disease. While most are aware of the disease, a lot of people forget to take steps on how to detect its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

The Importance of Early Detection

– The goal of screening exams for breast cancer is to find cancer before it causes any symptoms, it is usually those unusual lumps that can be felt in our breasts. Early detection is an approach that lets breast cancer get diagnosed earlier before it may have occurred. Breast cancers that are found because of symptoms are likely to have already spread beyond the breast. Unlike breast cancers that are found on screening prior to symptoms are more likely to be smaller and still are confined in the breast.
